Taichung Central Park - Taichung City - Taiwan

Thousands of trees are to be planted at Taichung's Central Park, making it the city's ''green lung'', and this park will be the nation's first ''smart'' and low-carbon urban park, the Taichung City Government said, adding the park is to open for a trial in August, 2018.
The Taichung Central Park covers about 67 hectares, and is located in the center of the city's Shuinan Gateway Park, which was created on the grounds of the former Taichung Shuinan Airport and is to be transformed into a commercial area housing ''smart'' industries and business centers. 80.6 percent of the trees are indigenous species such as Taiwanese persimmon, Formosan michelia, Chinese pistachio, camphor, stout camphor, beech and Taiwanese yew are planted at the park, helping to promote the local plants in Taiwan.
